Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide is a potent biocide for killing and preventing regrowth of most types of organisms that grow in fuels. It is particularly effective against the most common type of growth, Cladosporium Resinae, as well as against bacteria yeasts and other fungi. Bacteria or Fungal growth in fuel only occurs when water is present. As water is heavier than fuel, these bacteria or fungal growth form at the interface between the water and diesel fuel and “feed” off the hydrocarbons in the fuel. Water can form in fuel tanks through condensation or transfer contamination from another tank from which fuel is sourced.

Left untreated, these bacteria or fungal growths can rapidly reproduce and cause total filter blockage and severe damage to fuel systems.
